TAYLOR WILSON

Taylor Wilson’s Story

In April 2012 Taylor Wilson, fifteen, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. On November 27th that year she began a high dose chemotherapy treatment spanning five months. Six months later, on May 14th, 2013, she endured total body radiation and a bone marrow transplant. She developed Graft Versus Host Disease (GVHD) shortly after her transplant.

None of the treatments to treat the GVHD have worked for her.

Taylor’s Treatment’s Today

She has Photopheresis, a blood treatment, every Monday at Children's Hospital in Birmingham. However, the treatment hasn't stopped the progression of the disease. Her body is fighting itself, taking over each organ with progression. She is currently at stage 3, meaning over 50%  of her organs have been affected.
